Dear PWHC Family:,

  With the collapse of Prince William Ice Center, we know that the membership is concerned about the future of the Club. The Board of Directors had our monthly meeting this past Monday and we are formulating a plan for the future of Prince William Hockey Club. Rest assured, we will continue operations. The owners of the rink, Bill and Pat Hutzler, will announce news about the rink as soon as they have it. Estimates are that a new rink can be built in as little as 6 months, ready for next season!

First and foremost PLEASE do not go to the rink. We know that it is a place dear to your hearts, but the area is very dangerous right now. There are possible ammonia leaks, and the building is still crumbling. Please honor the NO TRESPASSING signs. Demolition will begin soon and the area needs to be clear. So please, again for your safety, do not go to the ice center.

TRAVEL ICE HOCKEY - The club is working with all of the area rinks to find ice time to finish the current travel hockey season. We still have some away games that will happen (of course if the weather cooperates) and our final "home" games will be away games. Please look for word from you coach or manager on the schedule of events and please be flexible. Some games may happen mid week as our club is not the only one looking for ice. The Virginia Express, Speed Skating, and the Figure Skating clubs are also trying to locate ice time. Right now the CBHL is considering extending the season by a week or so for the A and B teams to finish the season. Unfortunately the AA teams are limited by the National Bound Rules and the length of the season.

HOUSE ICE HOCKEY - The club is exploring options for the house teams to finish the fall-winter season. Some teams have already received emails about possible ice time at other rinks. Please keep in contact with your coaches and managers for these times and places. Again please be flexible. The season had 3 weeks remaining. Also the Spring season is being evaluated at this time. Other rinks are being considered for the short term as well as for clinics to keep the kids on the ice as much as possible. Please keep an eye out for these announcements. For those that had already registered for Spring, you will be contacted about your registration--however please be patient. Our Chief Financial Officer is currently without internet access.

INLINE HOCKEY - The rink collapse did not affect our inline hockey teams. The TSP still stands and the winter season is winding down. Registration for Spring season is open and is a GREAT option to keep you kids playing hockey and enjoying the thrill of the game. Please contact Alex Eng for more information.

MEMBERSHIP MEETING IN MARCH - We are still planning on having the General Membership meeting in March for the elections for the open slots on the Board of Directors. Please keep an eye out for the email for the new location...based on the location found the date may need to shift so PLEASE remain flexible.
