PWHC 14U Team Wins Silver at the Ponytail!

Prince William Panther Girls 14U team were the Silver Medal winners of the 14U B bracket at the 2008 Pony Tail Tournament held this year in Abingdon, MD!

The Panther girls traveled to Abingdon with their back-up goalies and ten skaters (only 3 Defense) and dropped their first game 5-0 to the Lady Patriots. On the second day of the tournament, the Panthers won their next two games; After pulling the goalie in the last minutes of the third game, Nicole Averill scored in the last minute to bust a "come-from-behind" tie and squeak out a 3-2 win needed to secure their spot in the Semi-finals.

In the Semi-Final the Panthers faced their old nemesis: The Raleigh Hurricanes; winning 4-3 in the shoot-out with a sudden-death goal from Katie Felice and a stunning save from Alli Buch. The Raleigh team awarded our Captain, Paige Bugg with their Tournament MVP award and lent their support for our success in the final.

Our brave girls fell 2-0 to the Lady Patriots of Warwick, PA in the Championship game on Sunday afternoon, fighting hard to overcome the early game deficit, they held the Patriots scoreless in the 2nd and 3rd, but just couldn't find the back of the net.
