Pee Wee B Travel Team
Captures Flight on Ice Tournament Championship
The Prince William Pee Wee B travel team captured the Flight on Ice Tournament Championship at
the Pond Ice Arena in Newark, Delaware on Sunday March 11th. The Pee Wee B's beat a tough Exton
Kings team in a championship game nailbiter 2-1. Alison Evans opened the scoring in the first
period on a beautiful pass from linemate Lance Wray. After surrendering a 2nd Period power play
goal, the Panthers immediately responded with a power play goal of their own. Joseph Johnson
added the game winner on shot from the point, and Prince William never looked back. The goalie
tandem of Justin Wray and James Vuillemot weathered the storm through the rest of the game to
secure Prince William the title. The team completed round-robin play undefeated, overcoming
teams from Pennsylvania, Delaware and New York enroute to the championship.
All teams participated in the skills competition held on Saturday March 10th. Prince William managed
to emerge victorious in two of the four events, winning the team speed skating race as well as the
team shootout. In the speed skating race, the team of Matt Graves, Devin McDonald, Nick Frankel and
Sean Prendergast managed to win despite an exciting crash at the finish line. The team shootout went
to extra shots between Prince William and Bear Mountain, as they finished the preliminary
competition tied. In a short, sudden death overtime, Lance Wray found the back of the net to
secure the win. The rest of the winning team included Killian Prendergast, John Donovan,
Alison Evans, Johnny Ganssle, and Cheyney Talbert.
Congratulations to the skills events winners and to the entire team for a fantastic weekend.
