Prince William Squirt AA WINs the 2006 York Thanksgiving Tournament Championship!
Thanksgiving weekend, 2006
The Prince William Panther Squirt AA team won the 2006
6th Annual York Thanksgiving Tournament this Thanksgiving weekend. The Panthers went into the
tournament with cautious optimism for they were to play two teams (Baltimore Stars and Frederick
Fury) that gave them trouble in the pre-season. But to the surprise of the coaches and parents,
Prince William dominated the competition beating the Baltimore Stars 8-1 Friday afternoon,
then beating Northern Virginia 7-1 Saturday morning; they then continued by beating the tough
Fury team 8-2 on Saturday afternoon securing a spot in the tournament Championship play.
Sunday morning brought their toughest competition by the Big New Jersey "Bayonne Rangers" team,
over which they squeezed out the win 7-6. The squirts had to wait all day and were quite beat
by the time their 5th game in the Championship play rolled around at 4:00 p.m.,
but the Squirts dug down deep and beat the Baltimore Stars 9-1.
